Kinesiology tape is an elastic adhesive material. On the face, some people use small pieces to provide a gentle reminder to relax a muscle or to limit a repeated expression during rest. Any visible smoothing is generally temporary and may reflect altered skin tension or mild swelling after removal, rather than a lasting change. Facial skin is delicate, and adhesive products can cause irritation, contact dermatitis, or discomfort around the eyes and lips.

Use a product intended for skin and test a small area before placing it on the face. Avoid broken, sunburned, inflamed, or recently treated skin.
