Keratosis Pilaris and Microneedling: What to Know

Keratosis pilaris is caused by keratin collecting around hair follicles. Microneedling creates controlled superficial punctures and is more commonly considered for selected scars or uneven texture than for the follicular plugs themselves. Treating active redness, irritation, infection, or inflamed bumps first matters because needling compromised skin can worsen discomfort and inflammation.
