The adhesive base holds triamcinolone against the mouth lining, where it can calm inflammation and reduce irritation in an appropriate sore. It may be considered when a clinician identifies an inflammatory oral lesion and decides that a local steroid is suitable. It is not a general painkiller, antibiotic, or treatment for an unexplained lump. Viral, fungal, bacterial, traumatic, medication-related, and nutritional causes can look different and may need different care. The same active ingredient in another formulation may not be safe or useful for the mouth.

Use only the prescribed amount and place it directly on the affected area after gentle cleaning and drying. Avoid rubbing the film off and do not extend treatment without advice. Tell your clinician if you have diabetes, immune suppression, recurrent infections, or take other steroids. Keep the container clean and do not share it. If the sore is caused by a sharp tooth, bite, denture, or irritating product, removing that trigger may be as important as calming inflammation.
