What should you know about jock itch and bad smell?

Jock itch, also called tinea cruris, commonly affects warm, moist folds and may cause an itchy, scaly, or sharply bordered rash. Damp clothing, friction, trapped sweat, and macerated skin can add an odour. Bacteria or another fold condition may contribute as well, particularly if there is soreness, wetness, discharge, or a change in the rash.
