A consultation should consider the angle between your chin and neck, the natural width of your jaw, soft-tissue laxity, facial asymmetry, and your preferred degree of definition. Filler can create projection or a clearer border; it cannot correct every cause of a soft jawline, such as loose skin or the position of the underlying bones.

Report escalating pain, unusual tenderness, spreading redness, heat, pus, fever, or swelling that continues to worsen. Urgent assessment is needed for severe pain with pale or dusky skin, blistering, vision symptoms, or new facial weakness. Do not wait for a routine review if these symptoms develop.

Ask what degree of definition fits your anatomy, whether your skin or bone structure limits the change, how the filler will be placed, what the recovery pattern may be, and how a concern will be managed outside office hours.
