What should you know about jaw osteomyelitis symptoms?

A person with jaw osteomyelitis may develop ongoing or deep jaw pain, gum or facial swelling, tenderness, warmth, pus or a bad taste. Teeth near the affected area can feel loose, and chewing or opening the mouth may become difficult. Fever or feeling unwell can accompany infection, but its absence does not settle the diagnosis.
