What should you know about jack in the box food poisoning?

Short answer
Food poisoning after eating at a restaurant can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea or fever, but the food source cannot be confirmed from symptoms alone.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What may be happening
Food poisoning is an illness caused by contaminated food or drink. Symptoms can begin soon after eating or later, depending on the cause, and several illnesses can look alike. Other people who ate the same meal becoming ill may be useful information, but it does not prove where contamination occurred. Keep note of what you ate, when symptoms began, and whether anyone else is affected.
What to do at home
Take frequent small sips of water or an oral rehydration solution, especially after vomiting or diarrhoea. Rest, and return to light foods as tolerated. Avoid preparing food for others while you are unwell and wash your hands carefully. A clinician may recommend oral rehydration therapy; IV fluid therapy may be needed when dehydration is significant or fluids cannot stay down. Do not take leftover antibiotics without advice.
When to seek care
Seek urgent help for fainting, confusion, very little urine, severe abdominal pain, blood in vomit or stool, persistent vomiting, or signs of severe dehydration. Contact a clinician promptly if fever is high or ongoing, symptoms are worsening, or the person is a young child, older adult, pregnant, or has a condition affecting immunity. Emergency care is needed if someone is difficult to wake or collapses.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether testing is needed, which fluids are appropriate, how to manage medicines during vomiting, and when it is safe to return to work, school or food preparation.

Questions people ask
Should I make myself vomit?
No. Inducing vomiting can worsen fluid loss and does not reliably remove the cause of illness.
When might IV fluids be used?
A medical team may use IV fluids when dehydration is significant or drinking is not possible.
