What should you know about an itchy throat after drinking water?

A very cold drink can briefly irritate a dry or sensitive throat, while dehydration, mouth breathing, dry air or a blocked nose can make normal sensations more noticeable. If the reaction occurs with one bottle, dispenser or flavouring, consider whether the water has an additive or whether the container needs cleaning.
