What Itchy Feet and Hands May Mean

Small, deep blisters on the palms or soles can occur with Dyshidrotic Eczema. Redness or soreness in areas exposed to a soap, glove, shoe, dye, or chemical can fit Contact Dermatitis. Peeling or scaling between the toes, sometimes with a related hand rash, can occur with Athlete's Foot. Dryness and repeated wet work can damage the skin barrier and sustain itching. These patterns guide assessment but cannot confirm a cause from symptoms alone.

Keep a brief symptom diary: record the first site, new products, wet work, footwear, and whether the rash comes in episodes. Wash gently, moisturise dry hand and foot skin, and dry carefully between the toes. Avoid scratching and do not burst blisters. Pause a new non-essential product if it clearly preceded the rash. If scaling suggests a fungal problem, ask about Topical Antifungal Treatment before using an eczema cream.

Seek an appointment for repeated flares, persistent itch, spreading rash, painful fissures, or symptoms that interfere with sleep or daily tasks. Get prompt care for warmth, pus, rapidly increasing swelling, fever, severe pain, or red streaking. Emergency help is needed for breathing difficulty or swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat.
