What should you know about itchy crusty eyes?

Allergic conjunctivitis can make both eyes itch, water, and feel gritty; crusting may collect after sleep. Allergic rhinitis may accompany eye symptoms with sneezing or a blocked nose. Arrange prompt medical advice for eye pain, light sensitivity, reduced or blurred vision, injury, or redness that is severe or worsening. Seek urgent help if swelling affects the eye or breathing symptoms occur.
