Itching Under the Feet During Pregnancy: What to Know

Short answer
Itching under the feet may be linked to dryness, heat, sweat, friction, a new product, or a skin condition. Pregnancy can also bring itching that has no obvious rash. The location alone cannot identify the cause.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What it may mean
Look for clues such as scaling, cracking, redness, blisters, or a sharply defined area after using footwear or creams. Conditions such as Atopic Dermatitis, Contact Dermatitis, Psoriasis, or Skin Yeast Infection can affect the feet. Itching that is intense, widespread, worse at night, or present without a rash should be discussed promptly with your maternity team because cholestasis of pregnancy is a possible concern. Do not assume the itch is only a skin problem.
What you can do now
Wash gently with lukewarm water, pat dry, and apply a plain fragrance-free moisturiser soon afterwards. Choose breathable socks and roomy footwear, change damp socks, and avoid scratching, hot baths, fragranced products, and unapproved medicated creams. Keep a note of when the itch began, whether it spreads, and whether your palms or the rest of your body itch. Check any medicine with a pharmacist, obstetric clinician, or doctor before using it in pregnancy.
When to seek care
Contact your maternity service promptly for severe or persistent itching, itching without a rash, itching of the palms or soles, night-time worsening, or new yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or pale stools. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, widespread rapidly developing hives, fever, severe pain, or a foot that becomes hot and swollen.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether you need liver and bile-acid blood tests, whether a rash is present, and which moisturiser or treatment is suitable at your stage of pregnancy. Mention all medicines, supplements, new products, and changes in fetal movement or general wellbeing.
