What should you know about itching of left foot?

Dry, rough, cracked skin may itch after frequent washing, hot showers, or dry air. A new shoe, sock, detergent, adhesive, or foot product can trigger contact dermatitis where it touches. Scaling between the toes, peeling, moisture, or an advancing edge can fit a fungal-type rash, although other conditions can look similar. Eczema and psoriasis may produce itchy scale on the sole or top of the foot. Scabies is more likely to be considered when itch is intense at night and similar spots occur elsewhere or in close contacts.

Compare both feet without assuming that one-sided symptoms identify a diagnosis. Check for swelling, warmth, redness, cracks, blisters, drainage, numbness, or a wound, and mention diabetes, poor circulation, or immune problems when seeking advice.

Wash gently, dry carefully between the toes, and change damp socks. Choose breathable footwear, avoid sharing shoes or towels, and pause any new foot product. Apply a plain fragrance-free moisturiser to dry skin, but keep cream out of the spaces between toes if they are moist. Avoid scratching and do not use strong steroid or combination creams without guidance, because they can alter the appearance of some infections.
