A plain protective moisturiser may help intact irritated skin, but do not seal in moisture over a wet, oozing, or infected-looking rash. Keep nails short and avoid scratching. A pharmacist or clinician can advise whether an antifungal, anti-inflammatory, or other treatment fits the appearance.

Arrange medical advice if itching persists, recurs, spreads beyond the crease, or affects sleep. Seek prompt care for severe pain, swelling, pus, foul-smelling drainage, bleeding, open sores, fever, or a rapidly enlarging lump. Urgent help is appropriate for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, faintness, or a widespread rapidly developing allergic reaction.

Ask whether the appearance suggests dermatitis, yeast, scabies, or another condition; which cleansing and barrier products are suitable; and whether any lump, fissure, or drainage needs examination.
