What should you know about itching after bee sting?

A sting can cause immediate pain followed by redness, swelling, warmth, and itch around the site. The local area may remain uncomfortable as the skin settles. Hives away from the sting, swelling of the lips or tongue, throat tightness, wheezing, dizziness, vomiting, or faintness can signal a serious allergic reaction.
