Is laser tattoo removal done with picosecond laser?

A picosecond laser delivers energy in extremely short pulses. The energy can fragment tattoo pigment so the body's clearance systems can gradually remove smaller particles. Different wavelengths target different colours, and some pigments respond less readily than others. The surrounding skin can still become red, swollen, tender, or temporarily lighter or darker after treatment.

Choose a qualified medical practitioner who can inspect the tattoo and your skin before treatment. Share your medical history, tendency to form raised scars, recent tanning, medicines, and any previous tattoo-removal sessions. Follow the aftercare plan, keep the area protected from sun, and do not pick blisters or crusts. Several visits may be needed because the skin needs time between sessions.

Contact the treating clinic if pain, swelling, redness, drainage, or blistering is worsening rather than settling, or if you develop fever or spreading redness. Seek urgent help for facial swelling, breathing difficulty, or a severe allergic reaction. A delayed colour change or raised scar also deserves review before another session.
