What should you know about iontophoresis ultrasound?

Iontophoresis is commonly used to manage excessive sweating of the hands, feet or underarms. The treated area contacts water or a treatment pad while a device supplies a controlled current. Ultrasound instead uses sound-wave energy and is used for different medical or cosmetic purposes. A product, advert or appointment described with both words may be using them loosely, or may involve separate technologies. Ask what device is actually being used and what outcome it is intended to provide. Confirm the treatment name, body area, device instructions and expected sensation before starting.
