What should you know about injections for forehead lines?

Horizontal forehead lines often become more visible when the frontalis muscle lifts the eyebrows. Over time, lines may remain when the face is relaxed as skin elasticity and collagen structure change. Botox reduces movement in selected muscles, so treatment must balance the forehead with the muscles that position the eyebrows. Filler is not automatically suitable for every forehead crease because this region contains important vessels and requires specialist judgement.

Have your forehead assessed while speaking, raising the eyebrows, and relaxing the face. Tell the clinician about drooping eyelids, previous facial injections, neuromuscular conditions, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and medicines that affect bleeding. Discuss a conservative plan, expected onset, duration of effect, and alternatives such as topical skin care and sun protection. Follow post-treatment instructions and avoid pressing or manipulating the injection sites unless told to do so.

Contact the treating clinic if you develop marked brow or eyelid drooping, increasing redness, severe pain, or swelling. Seek emergency care for trouble breathing or swallowing, widespread allergic swelling, sudden weakness, severe headache, or vision changes.

Ask whether your lines are mainly movement-related or etched into relaxed skin, how eyebrow position may change, what product is proposed, how follow-up works, and which symptoms should trigger urgent help.
