When grooming resumes, use a clean razor, avoid stretching the lip, and make fewer passes. Recurrent problems can be discussed with a clinician, including whether laser hair removal is appropriate.

See a clinician if swelling spreads, pain intensifies, pus develops, or the area becomes hot. Prompt assessment is sensible with fever, facial swelling, or redness moving beyond the original bump. A lesion that persists, bleeds, or repeatedly returns in one place may need a different diagnosis.
