What happens if prostate cancer spreads?

Spread means prostate cancer cells have moved outside the original gland. They may involve nearby tissues or lymph nodes, or travel to distant areas such as bone. The cancer remains prostate cancer even when it is found elsewhere. Some people have no new symptoms, while others notice bone pain, tiredness, or urinary changes.

Your team may review scans, blood tests, examination findings, previous treatment, and how quickly the disease is changing.
