What should you know about ICVP yellow fever?

The International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis records an eligible yellow fever vaccination. Border or travel authorities may ask to see it when you arrive from, or travel through, areas where yellow fever transmission is a concern. Requirements can depend on your itinerary, transit stops, age, health, and destination rules, so check current travel advice before departure.

Vaccination protects against infection but does not explain a fever after travel. Yellow fever can begin with fever, headache, muscle aches, nausea, or tiredness and may worsen with jaundice, bleeding, confusion, or severe weakness. Other infections can cause similar symptoms.

Book a travel-health appointment early enough to review your route, medical history, pregnancy status, immune problems, allergies, and previous vaccination records.
