Machines for hyperhidrosis

A machine may refer to Iontophoresis, which uses water and a mild electrical current for areas such as the hands or feet, or Microwave Sweat Gland Treatment, which uses controlled energy for suitable underarm sweating. These are different procedures with different preparation, sensations, aftercare and eligibility checks.

The device targets troublesome sweating in a defined area; it does not explain why sweating began. A clinician first reviews the pattern, medicines and associated symptoms, and checks for irritated, broken or infected skin.

Ask which technology is being offered, what body site it is designed for, how many visits or sessions are expected, and whether maintenance may be needed. Tell the provider about implanted electrical devices, reduced sensation, pregnancy, skin disease, allergies and medicines before treatment.

For hand or foot sweating, Iontophoresis may be discussed. For suitable underarm cases, Microwave Sweat Gland Treatment may be an option. A Prescription Antiperspirant, Botox For Sweating or another approach may fit better depending on the location and your treatment goals.

Do not delay assessment if sweating is new, generalised, one-sided or present during sleep. Seek prompt care for severe pain, blistering, spreading redness, drainage or fever after a device treatment. Sudden heavy sweating with faintness, chest discomfort, breathing difficulty or confusion needs urgent medical attention.

Ask what the machine treats, why it fits your body area, what you will feel, how skin is protected, which side effects require a call, and how the plan changes if sweating returns or another area becomes troublesome.
