What should you know about hydrafacial lip treatment?

A provider may use a small tip or adjusted technique around the lips to remove surface debris and apply hydrating solutions. The focus is the skin surface and the lip border. It may temporarily make the area feel smoother or look more refreshed, but it does not add volume, reshape the lips or correct a deep scar. The exact products and pressure should be adapted because lip skin can be delicate.

Tell the practitioner about cracked skin, eczema, active cold sores, recent dental work, filler or other injections. Treatment may need to wait until irritation or infection has settled.

Avoid booking over an active blister, open cut or painful split. Ask whether lipstick, lip balm or exfoliating products should be removed or paused. Afterward, use the recommended bland balm, avoid picking flakes and protect the surrounding skin from sun exposure. Do not share applicators or use irritating products if the area feels raw. Confirm whether the clinic’s hydradermabrasion device is used directly on the lips or only around them.

Mild tightness or short-lived redness can occur. Contact the clinic for increasing pain, marked swelling, pus, spreading redness or a persistent rash.
