If you use insulin or a medicine that can cause low blood glucose, improving glucose control may mean your diabetes treatment needs review. Eating less than usual, vomiting, or becoming dehydrated can also affect glucose readings and how you feel. These injections are not a substitute for a personalised diabetes plan.

Tell the clinician prescribing the injection about every diabetes medicine you take, your recent glucose pattern, and any history of pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, severe digestive symptoms, or kidney concerns. Do not change insulin or other diabetes medicines on your own.

Follow the prescribed dose schedule, check glucose as advised, and keep fluids available. Smaller meals may be easier if nausea occurs. Record repeated low or high readings, reduced food intake, vomiting, or troublesome abdominal symptoms so your clinician can decide whether the plan needs adjusting.

Seek urgent medical help for severe or persistent abdominal pain, especially with vomiting; confusion, fainting, or difficulty waking; signs of a serious allergic reaction; or glucose readings that remain very high or very low despite following your diabetes plan. Contact your care team promptly if you cannot keep fluids down, are passing much less urine, or have repeated low glucose episodes.
