How quickly does steroid injection into the skin relieve skin lumps?

An intralesional steroid is placed directly into a selected lesion to calm inflammation and reduce overactive scar tissue. It may be considered for a thickened scar, keloid, or another diagnosed inflammatory lesion. A lump can have many causes, and an injection is not suitable for every one; the diagnosis should come before treatment. Improvement may be gradual, and the lump may not disappear completely.
