How quickly does ear wax removal relieve ringing in the ears?

A wax blockage can change how sound travels through the ear and make internal sounds more noticeable. Clearing it may reduce the ringing, but removal may not stop it if the sound is related to hearing damage, infection, medicines, jaw tension, or another cause. A short period of altered sensation after treatment can make it difficult to judge the result straight away.

Give the ear time to settle and avoid loud noise while monitoring the change. Do not scrape the canal or use unapproved devices.
