How long should you wait after COVID for a booster?

A recent infection can affect how you feel on the day of vaccination, so postpone while you are acutely unwell. Timing also depends on age, pregnancy, immune health, previous vaccine doses, medicines and the circulation of COVID-19. Current recommendations can change, and the schedule may differ for people at higher risk of severe illness. A booster is preventive care; it does not treat ongoing fatigue, breathlessness or other Long COVID symptoms.

Check the current UAE recommendation with an authorised vaccination service and describe when your symptoms started and resolved. Bring your vaccination record and a list of medicines. Tell the vaccinator about a previous severe allergic reaction, pregnancy, immune-suppressing treatment or a reaction to an earlier dose.
