How long does tumour removal surgery take to work for chondrosarcoma?

Chondrosarcoma begins in cartilage-forming cells, often within a bone. The surgeon plans the operation around the tumour’s location, size, and relationship to nearby joints, nerves, and blood vessels. The aim is to remove the tumour with an appropriate rim of normal-looking tissue while preserving function when that is feasible.

The specimen goes to a laboratory for detailed examination. The report helps the team assess the tumour grade and the surgical margins. Follow-up imaging and physical checks then help evaluate the treated area, any reconstruction, and signs that need further investigation.
