How long does targeted therapy take to work for multiple myeloma?

Multiple myeloma treatment often aims to reduce abnormal plasma cells and the proteins they produce. The medicine, treatment combination, disease features, kidney function and general health can affect how quickly changes appear.

Contact your treatment team promptly for fever, new infection symptoms, unusual bruising or bleeding, worsening weakness, severe constipation, new numbness or a major reduction in urine. Seek urgent care for sudden severe back pain, leg weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, confusion or trouble breathing.
