Surgery can reposition a tight burn scar, release restricted movement, revise an uneven edge, or make a prominent scar less noticeable. The incision becomes a healing scar, so early redness, firmness, numbness, and swelling are possible. Scar maturation is gradual. Keep dressings and incisions clean and follow movement restrictions, especially when the scar crosses a joint.
