How long does radiotherapy take to work for lymphoma?

Lymphoma can involve one area or several parts of the body, and radiotherapy may be used for local control, symptom relief, or as part of a wider plan. The number and spacing of sessions are chosen around the site being treated and any chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or other care. A swollen area may soften gradually rather than disappear immediately. Tiredness, skin changes, or irritation can build during treatment and may continue briefly afterwards; these effects do not by themselves show whether lymphoma is responding. The team uses your symptoms, examination, blood tests when appropriate, and planned imaging to judge progress.

Keep every treatment and review appointment, record changes in swelling, pain, pressure, fever, night sweats, appetite, or energy, and report them clearly.
