How long does radiotherapy take to work for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma?

What the timing means
Radiation targets cells in the treated skin area. Redness, dryness, soreness or temporary irritation can occur as the skin reacts, so early appearance does not always reflect the eventual response.
Timing depends on the size and number of treated areas, the radiation plan, the aim of treatment and whether other skin or whole-body treatments are used. Your clinician may assess the skin by examination and photographs or other planned checks.
What you can do during treatment
Use only skin products approved by your treatment team, protect the treated area from irritation and report changes rather than stopping treatment yourself. Keep a record of lesions, itch, pain, scaling and healing.
When to seek urgent care
Contact your treatment team promptly for rapidly worsening redness, blistering, open or infected-looking skin, fever, uncontrolled pain or a new widespread rash. Seek urgent care for severe illness, facial swelling or breathing difficulty.
