How long does PUVA therapy take to work for mycosis fungoides?

PUVA combines a light-sensitising medicine with carefully measured ultraviolet A exposure. The medicine helps affected skin respond to the light, and treatment is repeated under dermatology supervision. Patches may become less active gradually; colour changes can lag behind improvement in itch or thickness. The schedule and dose are adjusted according to skin response, symptoms, and the area being treated.

Mycosis fungoides is a cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, so the aim and review plan are individualized. Skin improvement does not by itself determine the full status of the condition; keep all oncology or dermatology follow-up appointments.

Take the photosensitising medicine exactly as prescribed and attend each scheduled light session. Follow instructions about protective eyewear and protecting sensitive skin from light after the medicine.
