How long does PGT-A take to work for implantation failure?

PGT-A examines cells removed from embryos created through IVF. The embryos are usually kept in the laboratory while results are prepared, and a suitable embryo may be frozen for a later transfer. The exact interval depends on the laboratory, the number of embryos available, and whether the test needs additional review.

PGT-A assesses chromosome number; it does not diagnose every cause of implantation failure. A result can help the fertility team decide which embryos may be appropriate to consider for transfer, but implantation still depends on the embryo, uterus, timing, and other factors.

Ask the fertility team for a cycle timeline covering ovarian stimulation, egg collection, embryo development, biopsy, laboratory reporting, freezing, and transfer preparation. Take prescribed medicines as directed and keep appointments for monitoring. If previous transfers did not implant, ask whether the team recommends reviewing the uterine cavity, embryo history, or other factors alongside PGT-A.

Contact the clinic promptly for heavy bleeding, severe or worsening pelvic pain, faintness, breathing difficulty, or marked abdominal swelling during or after fertility treatment. After transfer, follow the clinic's instructions about bleeding, pain, and pregnancy testing; urgent symptoms should not wait for a planned result discussion.
