Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection that can cause itching, peeling, cracks, soreness, or blisters between the toes and on the soles. Oral treatment works throughout the body, but damaged skin still needs time to shed and repair after fungal activity falls.

Early signs can include less itching, reduced spreading, and fewer new blisters or cracks. Mild scaling may remain after symptoms begin to ease. Reinfection is possible if damp footwear, shared towels, or untreated fungal infection elsewhere on the skin or nails continues to expose the feet.
