Cancer treatment can bring on menopause-related changes such as hot flushes, sleep disruption, vaginal dryness, mood changes or reduced sexual comfort. Management may combine non-hormonal medicines, local care, lifestyle measures, psychological support and, for selected people, hormone-based options. The safest choice depends on the cancer type, treatment history, current medicines and personal risks.

A symptom diary can show whether episodes are becoming less disruptive, whether sleep is improving and whether side effects are appearing. Bone, heart, sexual and emotional health may need separate attention; one treatment does not address every consequence of early menopause.

Share the complete cancer treatment history and current medicines with the clinician managing menopause symptoms. Agree on one or two changes to monitor, then use the planned review to discuss benefit and side effects. Cooling strategies, regular movement, sleep routines, moisturisers or lubricants may support medicine-based care when suitable.

Do not start an over-the-counter hormone product or supplement without checking it with your oncology team. Ask about contraception and fertility if those subjects remain relevant, because bleeding or ovarian activity can change during recovery.

Contact your clinician if symptoms remain difficult, a treatment causes troubling side effects, or unexpected vaginal bleeding occurs after a period without bleeding.
