How long does medicated shampoo take to work for seborrheic dermatitis?

Seborrheic dermatitis is linked to inflammation in oil-rich areas and can fluctuate. Shampoo may reduce scale, oil, and irritation without changing the skin's long-term tendency to flare. Improvement can be uneven: the scalp may settle before the eyebrows, ears, or beard area. A maintenance schedule may help after the initial flare is controlled.

Work the shampoo into the scalp and leave it for the instructed contact time before rinsing. Use it on the schedule supplied by your clinician, even if flakes improve quickly.
