Unexplained infertility means standard evaluation has not found a clear reason for difficulty conceiving. IUI places prepared sperm inside the uterus close to ovulation, giving sperm a more direct route while conception remains dependent on egg release, fertilisation and implantation.

A cycle may involve tracking follicles with ultrasound, checking hormone changes and using medicine to support or trigger ovulation. The clinic chooses the insemination day from these findings, so the calendar can differ from one cycle to another.

Keep monitoring visits and follow instructions for any tablets or injections. Clarify the exact day for the semen sample, insemination and pregnancy test. Avoid changing prescribed treatment on your own, and record bleeding, pain or medication effects to discuss at follow-up.

Call the clinic about severe pain, heavy bleeding, fever, faintness or rapid abdominal swelling. Get urgent care for breathing difficulty or severe sudden symptoms. A negative result is not an emergency, but reporting it helps the team decide whether to adjust timing, medication or the broader plan.
