How long does inhaler therapy take to work for COPD?

Bronchodilator inhalers relax airway muscles and can make breathing feel easier. Long-acting inhalers keep this effect going between doses; some also reduce airway inflammation. Improvement may mean less breathlessness during activity, fewer night symptoms or easier sputum clearance rather than a complete disappearance of symptoms. COPD is persistent, so inhalers control symptoms but do not reverse established lung damage.

Use maintenance inhalers on schedule and have your technique checked with the exact device you use.
