How long does ICSI take to work for male factor infertility?

During ICSI, an embryologist places a single sperm into an egg. The resulting embryos are observed as they develop, and a suitable embryo may be transferred to the womb either in the same treatment cycle or after freezing, depending on the plan. Implantation is not confirmed at transfer. A pregnancy test is arranged after the transfer at the time advised by the fertility team. Male factor infertility can involve sperm number, movement, or shape, so the team may recommend additional tests or sperm preparation before treatment.

Take medicines exactly as prescribed and follow instructions for the transfer and pregnancy test. Avoid testing too early unless your clinic specifically advises it, because fertility medicines can affect results or the embryo may not yet have implanted.
