FUE moves individual follicles from a donor area to thinning or balding areas. The visible hair attached to a graft may shed after transplantation while the follicle remains beneath the skin. New hairs then emerge slowly and may initially be fine or uneven. The final appearance depends on graft placement, donor supply, ongoing hair loss and the natural growth cycle. A fuller result is assessed later than the first signs of growth.

Follow the surgeon’s washing, sleeping and activity instructions. Avoid rubbing, picking scabs, tight headwear and unapproved products while grafts are healing. Keep review appointments and report medicines or scalp conditions that could affect recovery. If native hair continues thinning, ask whether a separate plan is needed to protect overall coverage.

Contact the clinic for increasing pain, spreading redness, worsening swelling, pus, fever, heavy bleeding or grafts that appear repeatedly displaced. Sudden patchy loss outside the treated area also warrants review. Do not judge the transplant from a single early photograph or arrange additional procedures before the healing plan has been assessed.
