Filler is placed beneath or within a depressed scar to raise the indentation and alter the way light reflects from the skin. Early fullness can include both the intended contour change and temporary injection-related swelling. The appearance may therefore shift as the tissue settles. Results depend on scar depth, tethering, skin condition, the product selected, and whether several scars need separate treatment. Filler does not erase active acne or every type of scar.

Use only the aftercare recommended by your injector. Keep hands clean before touching the treated skin, avoid pressing or massaging the area unless specifically instructed, and protect the skin from strong sun exposure. Delay irritating skincare or strenuous activity if your clinician advises this. Arrange a review once swelling has settled, because an adjustment or a different scar treatment may be considered if the contour remains uneven.

Call the injector promptly for worsening pain, marked colour change, increasing warmth, spreading redness, or swelling that is not following the expected course. Seek urgent help for vision changes, unusual severe headache, weakness, or skin that becomes pale, grey, or dusky after injection. These symptoms need prompt assessment rather than waiting for the cosmetic result to settle.
