Glioblastoma can extend into nearby brain tissue that cannot be seen clearly or removed safely. The surgeon therefore balances removal of visible tumour with protection of speech, movement, memory, and other functions. The operation is not expected to show the full treatment result immediately.

An early scan may check the surgical area, while laboratory examination confirms tumour features. Once healing and results are reviewed, the team usually discusses the next part of care, which may include radiation, medicines, rehabilitation, or symptom control. Ongoing scans help assess changes over time.

Take prescribed medicines on schedule and follow instructions for wound care, activity, seizure precautions, and steroid changes. Accept help with meals, bathing, transport, and communication if fatigue or weakness limits independence. Attend neurosurgery, oncology, imaging, and rehabilitation appointments.
