Existing damage may still need separate treatment, such as pain relief, radiotherapy, or orthopaedic review. Scans and blood tests help the team judge the response.

Take the treatment exactly as arranged and report whether pain, movement, or sleep changes after each treatment. Keep dental care appointments and tell your cancer team before invasive dental work, because jaw problems are an uncommon but serious treatment concern. Your team may check kidney function, calcium, and other blood results before later doses. Do not stop treatment because symptoms have not changed immediately; ask how your progress will be measured.

Call your oncology team urgently for new or worsening severe bone pain, difficulty walking, or pain after a minor injury. Sudden back pain with leg weakness, numbness, or loss of bladder or bowel control can signal pressure on the spinal cord and needs emergency assessment.
