A useful response can mean fewer fresh pustules, less redness and tenderness, and better control of feverish or unwell feelings when these accompany a flare. Drying skin does not always mean the inflammation is fully controlled. Follow the dosing plan carefully and maintain fluids, rest, and the skin-care measures recommended for your affected areas. Avoid picking or rupturing pustules. Record new lesions and temperature if your clinician has asked you to, and report worsening symptoms rather than waiting for the next scheduled dose.

Get urgent medical care for widespread pustules, fever, chills, marked weakness, dizziness, confusion, breathing problems, or inability to drink. A rapidly worsening flare can affect the whole body and may need supervised treatment, fluids, or a different medicine.

Ask what early improvement should look like, how quickly you should report new pustules, whether your flare needs additional treatment, which skin products are suitable, and when response and infection monitoring will occur.
