The first useful sign is often fewer new blisters or erosions. Existing sores still need time to close, and mouth or throat involvement may improve at a different pace from skin lesions. Your dermatologist may judge progress by new-lesion activity, healing, discomfort, and the need for additional medicines rather than by one appointment alone.

Take each dose on the schedule provided and do not stop corticosteroids or other medicines suddenly unless your prescriber directs it. Protect open areas with the advised dressings, keep oral care gentle, and report fever, worsening pain, or difficulty eating and drinking. Keep follow-up appointments so treatment can be adjusted safely.

Seek urgent medical help for trouble breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading blisters, signs of dehydration, high fever, or a painful area that becomes hot and increasingly red. These problems can reflect extensive disease, infection, or medicine-related complications and should not wait for the next routine review.
