How effective is tumour removal surgery for neuroendocrine tumours?

Neuroendocrine tumours can begin in organs such as the bowel, pancreas, stomach or lung. Their grade describes how quickly cells are dividing, while hormone activity can cause symptoms such as flushing, diarrhoea, wheezing or changes in blood sugar. These features influence the urgency, extent and type of surgery.
