Tinea manuum is a fungal infection affecting the hand. It may cause dry scaling, peeling, itch, cracking, or a more defined edge. The appearance can overlap with hand eczema, psoriasis, or irritation from repeated washing, so a clinician may need to examine the skin before choosing treatment.

A topical antifungal works at the skin surface and is most suitable when disease is not extensive, deeply inflamed, or involving the nails. The skin may look dry for a while after the fungus is controlled. Stopping as soon as itch settles can allow organisms left in the outer skin to persist.

Apply the prescribed or recommended product to clean, completely dry skin, including the margin around the visible rash if instructed.
