How effective is ovulation induction for female infertility?

The treatment uses medicine to encourage an ovarian follicle to mature and release an egg. It is most relevant when ovulation is infrequent or missing. A clinician may use cycle tracking, ultrasound and hormone testing to identify a response and time intercourse or insemination.

Pregnancy also depends on the fallopian tubes, the uterus, sperm health, ovarian reserve and timing. If infertility has another main cause, inducing ovulation alone may not solve the problem. A full assessment helps match treatment to the reason conception is difficult.

Book a fertility assessment for both partners. Bring information about cycle length, previous pregnancies, operations, medicines and how long you have been trying to conceive.
