How effective is endometrial receptivity testing for implantation failure?

The test uses a small sample from the uterine lining during a prepared cycle. Laboratory analysis looks at patterns of gene activity and classifies the lining as receptive or as needing a different timing interpretation. The result is then used to discuss when progesterone exposure and embryo transfer might occur in a future cycle.

Implantation depends on the embryo, the uterine cavity, the lining, hormone support, sperm and egg factors, and chance. A receptivity result cannot assess all of these. Sampling can also cause cramping or spotting, and the interpretation may not be the same in every cycle.

Ask your fertility team to review more established checks first, including the uterine cavity, embryo information, hormone preparation, and medication plan. Discuss what specific decision the test would change and how a result would alter transfer timing. Clarify whether the test is being offered as an optional add-on, how the sample is collected, and what other explanations for implantation failure remain.

Seek urgent care for severe pain, fainting, or heavy bleeding with weakness. During fertility treatment, report significant abdominal swelling, breathlessness, or reduced urination promptly.
