How effective is carboxytherapy for cellulite?

Cellulite is shaped by the relationship between fat compartments, connective tissue bands, skin elasticity and fluid movement. Carboxytherapy places medical carbon dioxide beneath the skin with a fine needle. The local expansion and circulation response may alter how the area looks, but it does not simply dissolve cellulite.

Changes can be subtle, uneven or short-lived. Thighs, buttocks and other areas may respond differently, and dimpling can look more visible with certain lighting, muscle tension or body position. Treatment is an appearance-focused option rather than a cure for a medical disease.

A qualified clinician should examine the dimpling, check the skin for infection or irritation, and discuss whether carboxytherapy suits your goals. Mention circulation problems, pregnancy, breastfeeding, diabetes, medicines that affect bleeding, and previous procedures.

Ask how many visits the proposed plan involves, when progress will be reviewed, and what discomfort, bruising or swelling may occur. Photographing the area under similar conditions can make gradual visual changes easier to assess.

Contact the clinic if pain, redness, warmth, swelling or drainage becomes pronounced or continues instead of settling. Urgent assessment is needed for rapidly worsening swelling, fever, severe pain, breathing difficulty, or signs of an allergic reaction.

Ask what feature of your cellulite the treatment is intended to address, how improvement will be measured, what alternatives exist for tethered dimples, and what would make the clinician recommend against treatment.
